For Liz

Blog Reader Liz recently wrote:

".....I recently purchased LOFT's Painted Stripe Boat Neck Tee (navy stripe) and the Foiled Printed Cardigan (it says grey but it looks taupe-ish to me). Do you have any tips for styling those two tops? I love the infinity scarves at LOFT now, they have some really cute stuff!"

First up...the foiled printed cardigan which I totally agree is more of a taupe then a gray. Online it is sold out but there are plenty in our store so I know you can find one. My store is 1583 in Escondido, California just in case ;).  This scarf would also look great with it but my Polyvore clipper is on the fritz so I couldn't use it in the sets.

Now for the Painted Boat Stripe Tee-I love the fit of this one. It looks large when you hold it up but it fits TTS.  This one can probably be found in a store search too, we have a few left but I think they are in our back room because they hadn't found a new place for them on the floor yet.

Just poppin' in

First a quick shout out to my 7 year-old boo---Happy Birthday Chase (p.s. I never really call him "boo", he would hate that)

Just a quick Saturday post before I sneak away with my J Crew 25% off coupon from Mickey. I was shocked to get one of these since I don't have a J Crew card but hey, I am far from complaining! And the fact that I can use it over and over through October 11th.......could be trouble!

Here is me at work last night, these are both older LOFT pieces that I had forgotten about. The dress has great detailing around the collar and always draws lots of compliments.
Speaking of LOFT, did you see the new sale??? It's got some great potential.....3 items for 40%  sounds good to me ;)

Mrs. O and I are like that (crossing fingers)

hmmmm......Mrs. Obama, this outfit you are wearing on your vacation looks vaguely familiar:

......could it be that you are one of my readers? Somehow I HIGHLY doubt it (as in not a chance in the world) but I thought it was kinda funny! Happy Friday ya'll!

Why I *heart* Polyvore

There are so many great reasons to love Polyvore but mine are simple. I can put outfits together without pulling my closet apart or even waiting for the item to arrive. Whenever I get something new or place an order, I try to make a couple of sets so I have ideas on how I am going to wear it. This helps make it versatile AND keeps it from being tucked back in my closet and forgotten about before I figure out how to wear it. And let's not forget all the great ideas and inspiration you can find!
And sometimes, while making one outfit I end up making something completely different that I never would have thought of and loving it. Like today's OOTD:
Grograin Ribbon and Flower tee, cardigan, belt: LOFT
unagi tweed pencil skirt-J Crew
Shoes-Mootsies Tootsies

Here are some Polyvore's I made using four new items (vintage yellow cardi, grograin and flower tee, sequin tissue tank and the piped and twisted cardigan)

Sand Dune & Coral Jackie's

Even though it is Final Sale now is a great time to stock up on some sale Jackies . Since my order arrived I thought I'd do a quick post on two of the colors.

SAND DUNE: I just love this color. It is not peachy or pastel, it is like a warm caramel camel that I can see going with everything.
CORAL: hmmmm.....how about neon coral. This baby is bright but I know I will end up wearing it alot once I get over the shock. When I first got the Papaya pencil skirt I had the same reaction and it is one of my favorites. This picture looks really toned down but I know that a lot of you have the silk tiered cami in Papaya and have a hard time with how bright that is. Look how it is mellowed by the coral. Also next to it is the neon belt for comparison.

Work, Shopping and Mother's Day...'Ole

My first weekend at the Loft was great, I still have to get the swing of things but already I can tell it will be a lot of fun! Here is what I wore the first night:
And here is the Polyvore. I switched out the belt for one that matched my shoes and I wore my light pewter Jackie.  I had always intended to I was just too lazy busy when I made the Polvore to search for that color Jackie.
First Day

Items in this set:

So now for my Friday trip to J Crew where I didn't get the one item I was looking for. As many of you know from the JCA blog (or as Gigi would say, the Mothership) I have been desperately searching for the Neapolitan Pencil Skirt in a size 8. I did a store wide search, scoured the site for pop backs every day, called numerous stores based on JCA tips and did another storewide search with no luck. Finally, I gave up. So when I went to my store on Friday and saw a bunch on the rack I almost resisted the urge to check out the sizes as to not break my heart all over again. Luckily, I looked because there it was in my OWN store. An 8 that was returned.

I also drank the crewlade from Dina, Sumerilla and HeidiG and picked up the Jaspe Sequined Slouchy Sweatshirt which was WAY out of my budget and my belief on what you should ever pay for one article of clothing. What can I say? It really is great on and was impossible to leave behind. I also grabbed the skimmer pants (which are so very flattering) in violet dust and the bling bling cardigan in wild mushroom ( I am so recreating the catalog look, you know the one with the gray sequin tank) and I found a lilac jackie on sale. The SA talked me in to trying out the Tailored Linen Pencil Skirt in the wet peat colorway. This skirt is so flattering and classic. It runs a little smaller then other J Crew pencil skirts and it is a little shorter. I bought the same size as I always do but the cut was higher and more curve hugging then my others. I also picked up the natural covered pearl necklace and this cute little flower pin. Here is a snapshot of my loot:

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day, I know I did. My husband got me a bottle of Donna karen's Cashmere Mist and they took me out to have carrot cake at Nordtrom's Cafe (ever tried it? It is amazing!!!). Here is what the kids and I wore, I traded out the sunshine skirt for the Neapolitan of course!

Lazy Weekdays, Busy Weekends

Can we say TGIF?/? Actually, I think my weekends are twice as crazy as my weekdays so I have no idea why I look forward to them still instead of Mondays.....hmmmmm. Here is yesterdays outfit which was just a running late, thrown together look. I love turqouise and yellow together, it just makes me happy.

And here is what I am wearing today. I almost forgot to take a photo so I had to grab my "photographer" while they were playing in the backyard. I just love this shirt, it also goes really well with the navy jackie but then again what doesn't?
