Yesterday was Jonas' 8th graduation. 406 8th graders made for a long ceremony. For me, the joy was a little tempered when I noticed the King family sitting near us. I couldn't help but think about how hard this day must be for them. Here they were celebrating their son's graduating from 8th grade on the same day that Chelsea was supposed to be graduating from highschool. One of the most heart warming moments was when Chelsea's brother Tyler's name was called. The ovation,cheers and love that came from his peers and the crowd, I am so proud to be part of such a great community.

And now, I am officially the mother of a highschooler. Here is what I wore to graduation (keep in mind it was a hot day):

Here is what I wore yesterday while running around and getting errands done! Today is the last day of school and 8th grade graduation. It is in the 80's here so my original outfit idea was foiled but I think I have a backup in mind.

Hits & Misses

First off, I must just get this off my chest. My 5'9" size 12 shoe wearing baby is graduating from 8th grade tomorrow....when did that happen? I don't know when I got old enough to have a child who is my height and can share shoes with my hubby. Graduation is a big deal out here, I have heard that most other places it is no biggyat all but it is out here and I had a great time with him picking out each detail of his outfit. I have also been teasing him that I am wearing a matching outfit so we can be alike, for some reason he seems to be terrified of the idea (tee....hee...).

Okay now to my regular stuff. Here is what I wore to work Friday night. I have found that I run around 10 times more at the Loft then I did at Macy's and add that to the fact that are floors are hardwood and my work shoe options are getting more and more limited!

Here is what I wore to work the next morning, not my favorite but I was tired . My hubby took the photo and just like a man, he does not to seem to realize that shoes are part of the outfit. I am really liking the Loft's pencil skirts, they are super flattering for those of us with curves. I just wish they'd come out with some more colors.

 Since it was more of a fun set, I used a lot of items that I don't own (yet). So yesterday I decided to create an IRL set inspired by Polyvore and here is what I came up with:

I substituted the Coralie cami with the tissue garland tank in Sepia and I have on a pair of old Mootsies Tootsies shoes. This interpretation works better for my lifestyle but if I ever get my hands on the cami and the amazing Juliene heels, I may just have to try it out!

I hope you all had a GREAT three day weekend! We had some plans but poor Chase got a stomach bug on Friday night that lasted until Monday....poor guy. Missed two parties and his talk at church but thankfully he was better on Monday so we were able to hook up our giant water slide bouncer and have a great time out in the sun! My Mom is in town for Jonas' 8th grade graduation so I will try to keep posting but my comments may be limited.

Zebra Dressed Down: First off, a quicknote to self: adjust necklace before taking photos so you don't look like you have lasso'd your boob.  This is what I later that day to work during the 40% off promo.....wow, it was crazy busy this weekend. I was able to scoop up these shoes that were on sale for under $30.

Bumming Around: I was able to finally pick up a whirling ruffles cardigan from a friend on Polyvore for a really good price yippee!!! I know, I did very little with it but it was a lazy day.

You only get the day........

Yesterday was a run around in the day, make dinner and run back out at night kind of day. One of my friends was having her baby shower and what better way to get away with shoving  politely eating mass amounts a little bit of cheesecake then to hide your bloated belly under the tango tank? I have to admit, sitting next to her while she opened baby girl clothes made me a little sad. I love having four boys but I can't wait to have a little girl to dress up (don't gasp, she will most likely be a grand daughter).

I wish I took a picture of how I dressed up my daytime outfit for the event but my camera decided to hide. Luckily I found it this morning in the laundry room (a.k.a. my garage).  I wish it had at least had the common courtesy to do a few loads while it was stranded out there. Anyways, I am sooooo ready for the three day weekend....whoot....whoot.....anybody have any great plans?

Who Needs a Jungle?

I had a hard time capturing how cute this top really is in a picture. Especially since the beginning of a ginormous headache was hiting me. I despise headaches that lay you out! Don't they understand that mommies just do not have the time for them??? My kids go into a weird panic mode when daddy says I am "off limits". They will find millions of ways to sneak into my room, truth is.....it warms my heart.

Back to the Animal Asymmetrical Ruffle Button Down Shirt (geesh that is a long name), I really love this top and it is a great substitute for J Crew's giraffe print that I missed out on. The material is polyester done right, it is really smooth and soft and it hangs really well!

On Lockdown....again

Okay ladies, I am on potty training lock down again. This is just not going well. With me other two boys as long as I waited until they were three, it was a pretty quick and painless process. This time around, there has nothing quick or painless about it. Christopher (2 and a 1/2) will go on the potty just for fun but doesn't relate the need to the "duty". Cooper (now 3) however, loves wearing big boy underwear but has never gone on the potty no matter how often he sits on it.....uggghhhh......I really hoped to have this all behind us (excuse the pun) before summer vacation started!
