a little Sunshine and Peonies

Sorry for the faded picture. My camera battery was out and this was the best the iPhone wanted to before I went to work this morning. Speaking of work, I officially was promoted to Sales Lead today which just means I can act as the Manager when she isn't there. Oh, and I can potentially get yelled at more...just kidding!

My husband isn't working right now so I am working mornings which I really love so I am going to enjoy it while it lasts. Here is what I wore to work today:
cardigan-LOFT
tee-LOFT
belt-LOFT
sunshine peonies pencil skirt-J Crew
Lyons Pump-Banana Republic

Tonight I actually get a little girl time with my friend Kelsey...it feels way overdue! Completely off topic, have you seen Off The Map yet? If you love Greys Anatomy, you'll definitely love this show. It is on tonight at 10

You have such great style. But especially with shoes, your shoes are always perfect.
I hoping to pick up the skirt at Loft that looks similar to this one. S

Congratulations on your promotion! Love this outfit, so bright and colorful. BTW, I'm the girl who stopped by LOFT at the mall and said "hello." Thanks for your help with the sweater -- I love it and have gotten lots of compliments on it! :)

Yay for your promo. I just wish you were at my local, would totally make the shopping experience way more fun! :)

I love the combo and look forward to the future date when there isn't yucky snow and ice everywhere so I can break my version out.

Your outfit makes me long for Spring. We probably have another 3 months worth of cold weather here up north in Canada... Will live vicariously through you (and other ladies) in the southern climes for cheery outfits. :)

Adorable! I love that skirt. And yes, I watch Off The Map. I hate grey's but for some reason I think I'm getting sucked into this show. We'll see if I stick with it.

I love that skirt and actually have it (I totally need to bust it out again!) I am an avid Grey's and Private Practice watcher (I know I know it's trashy TV, but I can't help myself!) So I am already into Off the Map!

Please tell us, are those shoes comfortable? I'm impressed you're wearing 4" heels to work. I immediately clicked over to BR to check them out, they will go with everything!

Congrats on your promotion!!! Keep up the regular posts please - you are great example of attainable style.

Debye-
This oufit is gorgeous, and so summery. Thanks for some girl time, I had so much fun chatting it up. I stopped by Loft last night on my way to my sister's, and you are right, the sale is really picked through. :( Anyways, have a great weekend, my dear! BTW, that cardigan is AWESOME, one of my favorite colors.

Just wanted to say I noticed you have not been on for a month or so...anyway, I appreciate your desire to step away from the madness for a while. Some of these blogs really drive me crazy. It seems to be nothing but an endless frenzy of buying, prideful showing off and competing with other bloggers for "who has the most stylish blog". It is time consuming, not to mention expensive. It sets unrealistic expectations of what a wife and mother should look like, without focusing on the more needful matters of the home. I'm a SAHM with 5 children, a Pastor's wife, and I homeschool. These blogs do not inspire me, and I doubt they inspire too many women living a real life in the real world. What they do is put an undo focus on outward appearance, and breed covetousness. It is no life that I wish to live when the 50 outfits in my closet fail to satisfy me or get me to stop shopping for more. I wish women could see the craziness and emptiness in this cycle.

"lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God...For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts..." II Timothy 3:4-6

Let's be mindful of what we are doing with our lives. God has given us a certain amount time here on earth to accomplish His will and purpose, not our own.

"...whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." I Corinthians 10:31
