Accidentally Patriotic (not that I wouldn't be on purpose)

This Sunday I broker out my No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Porcelain Paisley and decided to keep it simple with red accents. I must have been subconsciously inspired for the Memorial Day weekend as I received many patriotic compliments. I have so much love for this skirt and I can't wait to discover new ways to style it.
Here is the Polyvore for this outfit, all of the items  (except the shirt) are current. I was able to get the red Valentinas in store on sale during an additional percentage off promo for $90.99 so it is worth checking out the sale section in your retail store.

unintentionally patriotic

And here is how I spent my Memorial Day. Sigh. I love living in San Diego......

Did you do anything special for your three day weekend?

Gah! Why can't my store sell more shoes? I would KILL to get Valentinas on sale!

Beautiful! I will have to try a similar combination!

My4Boys- I don't size up on my Valentina's. I got my normal size (9) and they fit well and aren't tight at all. I have two pairs so I don't think I just got lucky :)

Allison Fay- I get almost all my J Crew shoes on super sale in store. They so often have a shoe super discounted that is still full price online....crazy!

CateO-thanks!

TaraMixandMatch-I totally drank the "crewlade" on this skirt and I am so happy I did!

Hi! Love the outfit and was wondering if you found the skirt to run true to size. I am about your size and was wondering what size to order? Thanks so much!

Claire- I sized down in the skirt. I more often wear a six but this skirt fit great in a four without being too clingy

Seriously you're modest and you're a mom and you look bangin. So not fair.

I just found your blog and love it so much. I love J. Crew, but with two young children I find it hard to balance style with practicality (not to mention modesty!) Thanks for showing us how it is done ;)

Hello! I have difficulty getting the no 2 pencil skirt from J. Crew long enough to cover my knees. I work in Orthodox Jewish day schools and must have a skirt long enough to cover my knees when standing. I am not slim by any chance, and it is so difficult not to look frumpy! I find mid length skirts sell out super fast, especially from Loft. Have you ever bought a "tall" size skirt in order for it to be a modest length? They generally don't have them in store to try on, so it would be ordering from the website...
