Abstract Lattice

My Abstract Lattice pencil skirt is definitely one of my all time favorite classic J Crew pieces, luckily I was able to get a smaller size at a great price on eBay. Funny part is, when I bid on it I was on my iPhone so the picture was small. When I went to leave feedback I realized they used a picture of me wearing the skirt from this blog. So, I guess I sold myself a skirt.

The (two) Dog Days

Today was an immunization day. I really hate when they get old enough during their shots to give you the "how could you let them do this to me" look. So I treated them all to Starbucks chocolate milks and tonight we are having our family date. Chase is making Pizzas and we are going to watch Toy Story 3 while munching on popcorn with M & M's (the best combo ever). Here is what I wore, yikes...check out the roots! This is one of my favorite "go to" skirts, I love the print and color but the fabric allows it to be casual. If you come across one on eBay....grab it!:

*sniff....I miss my tan*

And yes, we do have our share of earthquakes here in San Diego but my house is not tilted now. My seven year old photographer was getting a little creative. Diagonal and at a lovely low angle making me look wider.....how sweet ;) This is what I wore to work last night, I ended up adding a cognac belt to the dress that matched my boots:

Say Cheese!

Okay Yogagirl...this smile is for you! This is what I wore to church on Sunday and it did suffer a casualty when Christopher pulled off part of the tank embellishment. Nothing a few stitches can't fix :)

And here is what I wore to work last night. Don't I look exhausted? Honestly, highschool is wearing me out. Between Jonas' seminary at 6am, then highschool, then cross country after highschool I feel like I have permanatly superglued my behind to the seat of my car (well, minivan).

Okay, I am here now

It is time to officially come out of hiding now but I am okay with that. I have realized that I really love my job because I missed it *gasp*. This Saturday Jonas and I went to the outlets for his back to school shopping, it is amazing how the older they get the less far your money goes for their clothes and shoes...ugghh. He did find some great stuff and there were a lot of good deals so I can't complain too much.

We did stop by the crewlet and they were having some great specials. It was 40% off jewelry, belts and clearanced items. I had been wanting the twisted hammock necklace for a long time now and although I am sure the crelwt version is different it was good enough for me. Not to mention it ended up being just $29.70 after the discount (versus $98 in regular stores). I have also wanted the vintage cord pencil skirt for ages and I was able to bring that home for just $39.50. My biggest score was the boyfriend sweatshirt for just $17.98. I could have done a lot more damage, the jackies were 25% off and the forever cardigans were 30% off but I had to watch it since it was Jonas' shopping day not mine.

At lastly, here is what I wore today to church. It looked much better IRL, I am going to get a lot of wear out of this skirt, it is so comfy. I may have to get the deep plum color that they had as well. If any of you need it, the J Crew Factory store style number was GY6529. It is $49.50 but was on special for $10 off.  The belt was just $17.70 (with the 40% off promo).

One of those funk things....

I am sure that I am not the only woman out there that occassionally suffers from what I like to call "funkiness". That was where I was last week. I thought I escaped it this weekend but sure enough it was here again today. So that is why I was so rude to ask all of your opinions on a dress and then not even say thanks. You all had a lot of great points and advice. 90% of you will be glad to know the dress did go back and guess what, I still haven't broken my shopping ban!

This morning Cooper had his three-ish year-old  doctor appointment. Can you believe he is the average size of a five year, three month old? Between the Dr appt, a church meeting and football camp flats were necessary even though they were not my favorite choice for this outfit.

Suprisingly enough, here are some pics of the day that threw me in the funk. One of my friends from church called me last Monday night and begged me to to do a four hour shift at the beach the next day to hold the fire ring for a youth event. Of course I said yes but four boys at the beach by myself is not my idea of fun. I worry way too much and with two toddlers it is hard to keep an eagle eye on the other two when they are in the water so I get a little (okay a LOT) nuerotic. Throw in Chase (he's just 6) disappearing  for 10 minutes and bring on the funkalicious mental break down.

Hanging Tough....

Four  Five days into the shopping ban and I am still going strong. I almost cracked the first day but luckily it passed! Here is what I wore to church yesterday. I realize that I did not dress patriotically but I was in a typical Sunday morning rush. One day I will get a picture of me before church when my hair hasn't been tossled by toddlers and my clothes aren't wrinkly yet.

Poor Chase came down with a stomach bug that morning and wasn't able to come to church with me so I was solo with the toddlers while Dad stayed home....what a work out that was. Yet, he insisted on being in the photo and miraculously recovered in time for the firework show. I miss being able to do your own fireworks in the street, they are banned here for fire reasons.

p.s. anybody else get the NKOTB block reference in the title?

Dreaming of an Abstact Lattice Pencil Skirt...........

I was finally able to find an abstract lattice pencil skirt on eBay and I won it...whoop whoop! While I am waiting for it to arrive, I have been dreaming of outfit combinations.....

There are some other GREAT ideas in this Polyvore Collection , can I wear this skirt everyday for a month...would that be strange ;o)  I have been making a few last employee purchases at Macy's. I finally grabbed the Nude Bandolino pumps but I did them as a pre-sale for the Friends & Family event so I don't get to bring them home until the 28th. I also snagged the B. Makosky bag shown for under $40 (from $188). It is a great nuetral color!
