Simply Three

So for tonight's Open House at my oldest son's school I decided to try out one of yesterday's Polyvores. I was two pictures in when my wonderful teenager told me that this top makes me look wide. He is fired... at least until tomorrow so this is the best picture you get.
Jaspe Sequined Slouchy Sweatshirt-J Crew
Double Serge Pencil Skirt in Bronzed Twig- J Crew (off eBay)
Shoes-J Crew

Here is what I wore the other day to work, it was my (not so mini) Cooper's third birthday so I was a little rushed to get out the door but I managed to get a full day of Birthday celebrating in before I had to go.
Cardigan, Top and Jeans-Loft
Shoes-Mootsies Tootsies

And lastly here is the birthday boy himself, rockin' some Mini Boden and 3D chalk glasses. The SA at Nordstroms told me that all the Mini Boden will be part of their half yearly sale coming up, just a little FYI!

Aw no! The Jaspe does NOT make you look wide! You look wonderful...i love that outfit. Happy birthday to your boy...he's such a cutie!

You look great in the Jaspe Sequin! I don't see how it made you look wide... maybe he said "wild"?

OMG your son is adorable. I just want to pinch those cute little cheeks. And you look wonderful too. :-)

Your birthday boy is cute as a button! Did you all survive PT btw?

LOVE your skirt and cardi - those green hues are super pretty! Wide???? What kind of lens was that boy looking through? Not a chance! You are gorgeous in both outfits!

Your son is wrong...what does he know anyway...he's a kid...cute kid...but a kid. Great jaspe outfit. I'm sure you were the hippest Mom at the school event!!! FER SURE!

Wide? Well...let's be honest...if you haven't tried it on, you can't fully feel the love, can you? I love the kid comments. E's comments on the bad haircut before I had it fixed were priceless.

But...I don't think you like wide at all. (in fact, I keep scrolling up to look at the outfit and try to figure it out, but no, no wideness.) I think your outfit looks great...both of them do - love the green cardi with the silky top.

I probably would have been wearing my sequin jaspe over the past few rainy chilly days...but I've been painting the kids' rooms, so it's been yucky paint clothes for me!

You don't look wide at all! I do love that sweater - keep the polyvores and outfits with it coming.

Grr- My 5-year-old does that too - tells me he doesn't like what I'm wearing. Once he told me, "Mom, do you like purple pants?" (I was wearing some Lucky Brand yoga pants that were purple) while looking me up and down. I told him I did and he said, "Well, I don't. I like brown pants. You need to wear brown pants." LOL!

I love your outfit! The Jaspe top looks great with bronzed twig - I have that same skirt so I'm going to have to try it with new color combos!

Your DS is adorable - thanks SO much for the post about MB being part of the 1/2 yrly! We love MB around here!

Oooohhh I can't wait for the half yearly sale! It always damages my wallet! I love the Jaspe and just got it myself but am still trying to decide if I actually want it or not!? I think I will try and style it like some of your poly's!

The Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale starts next Wednesday the 26th...yippeee! My son did some major backtracking on his wide comment and I did make sure to show him all your comments backing me up ;)

Jan-I am sorry to say we did not survive potty training, and there were casualties (mainly my sanity) but we are going for it again next week.

Michelle Q-don't you just love when the kiddos go and throw out their styling opinions? I like purple pants BTW ;)

You look great. I think teaching tact long process for kids and not an easy lesson. Mine are 10 & 12 and offer comments even when I don't ask their opinions. Of course if I don't like their answers I tell them they're grounded - (not really grounded, but you get the gist). BTW-what color are the sequins on your Jaspe? They look silver in your photo, but I've only seen blue IRL and online. Thanks.

Awww, you don't look wide! I really love it with the pencil skirt! I remember it being my favorite of the Jaspe-featuring ensembles! And does the 3D chalk really work?!

Wide? No way!

You definately do NOT look wide. I've been shopping too much, so I'm trying to pump the brakes... But you ladies with this top make me want to lay off the brakes, and go full throttle!! I'm lusting over it!! You look great!
