Some J Crew sale reviews & ways to wear them

Here are some reviews on some of the newer sale items and some ways to wear them.

Oak Tweed Pencil Skirt ($59.99 on sale )-this reminds me of my parents couch when I was a toddler but I love it anyways! The skirt sold out quickly online once it was marked down but I am sure it will start showing up on eBay and popbacks soon. It fits true to size and is the new shorter 21" length. I have it on here with the papaya silk tiered cami and an older J Crew corsage cardigan (my hair is blocking the flowers). Cooper was dancing for the photo...
Here it is again with the Perfect Fit Tee Slim Scoopneck Tee ($12.99 on sale) and the maya cardigan (still can find on ebay) in Sweet Guava. I grabbed this tee in my TS and it fit, well, perfect.
And here it is again with the Sand Dune Jackie ($39.99 on sale) and the ivory chiffon tiered tank ($29.99 on sale) . I sized down on the tank and it fit perfectly. I love that there is some weight to this tank, unlike the tissue tanks, but this baby is long. Much longer then on the model (more pictures later).
Now we will move onto the ink blossom pencil skirt ($59.99 on sale) paired casually with the Perfect-fit slim scoopneck tee again. I found the skirt TTS and I really love the print. It is easy to wear casually and doesn't need a lot to stand out!
Excuse the fact that I look like a scary doll here. This is my attempt to dress up the skirt a little with the silk frances cami in orchid shadow (on sale for $69.50) and the San Remo Cardigan (older but you can still find it on eBay). I obviously have not pressed the cami yet but you get the idea. I would also switch out the shoes but this was just for playing dress up.
Again, here it is with the metallic Jaspe Sequined Slouchy Sweatshirt. Not so sure about this one but it may grow on me!
And here is what I wore yesterday. The sand dune jackie, the ivory chiffon tiered cami (see how long it is) , the pearl and silk wrapped necklace in natural (check your stores for this color, the urban grey is still online $19.99) and the vintage matchstick jeans  in the vintage dark distress wash (some sizes still left for $49.99).

My favorites are the first and last outfits....so cute! I really love that ivory tiered tank. Think it might have to be mine eventually...once my shopping ban is over! =). Have a good day!!!

I really love the first outfit on you! I'd try that sequined shirt with dark skinny jeans next. The last outfit is great too- casual but polished.

You look gorgeous in every outfit! My favorite is the first one and the one with the jaspe slouchy sweatshirt. Do you buy the same size in your Maya and Jackie cardigans? Thanks.

You made a haul with all that sale fun!!! I love so many pieces you picked up and how you styled them... heading over to J-Crew right now!

Also, how does the Maya cardigan sizing compare to the San Remo one--do you wear the same size in both?

Love everything on you! I wish that tiered tank was still available in Ivory in my size...I'm debating getting the Jackie cardi in shocking pink...have you seen the pink in real life? I wish J Crew was anywhere near me so i could see the color -hoping it's quite vivid, like the coral cardi is-but not neon, kwim? ....I just got the Hyacinth Jackie before final sale hit-I love it!

I love everything, you sure know how to style a jcrew pencil skirt! Sadly that tweed skirt is sold out in my size, maybe I can find it in a store.

Thank you! I recently purchased both skirts and was struggling just a bit on how to style them. I knew I could do casual with a tee but needed help with dressy styling.

The pattern on the Oak Tweed Pencil skirt is awesome. It's so unique and different than a lot of the florals they've been putting out.
Great stylings. You always give me good ideas!

So cute! My jcrew is having a 30% off all final sale items - just an FYI.

Now I wish I'd tried on the tweed skirt when I was in this evening! The whole "final sale" vibe kinda turns me off, so I passed. I ended up getting some flower pins for $4.99 - 30% plus I scored the gingham blazer. Still pricey for me, but I have a bunch of stuff it will go with.

And I still can't get over how the papaya photographs! Totally not like it's true color. It doesn't work for me, but every time I see it on you, I wish I hadn't gotten rid of it!

Debye, did you keep the gilded jacquard pencil skirt? If so would you mind showing some options? Thx!

Debye said...

Ladies-thanks, the first outfit was my favorite too!

BellaMama-This maya is the same size as my Jackies (Medium), I also have one that I sized down on but I think I prefer the medium. My San Remo is a Medium too but I think it runs slightly smaller then the Maya.

Hollylovescrew-I did keep it but I haven't worn it. I'll get some options together that way I'll either wear it or know I need to return it.

Thanks Debye! :)

Sharon-Sorry I skipped your comment, I thought it was on a different post! I did see the shocking pink in the store before, it is very bright but pretty! Kind of boderline neon...

I love your blog and your style. Wish I hadn't returned my oak tweed skirt! I'm thinking about getting the ink blossom. What other colors would you wear with it?
