Hanging Tough....

Four  Five days into the shopping ban and I am still going strong. I almost cracked the first day but luckily it passed! Here is what I wore to church yesterday. I realize that I did not dress patriotically but I was in a typical Sunday morning rush. One day I will get a picture of me before church when my hair hasn't been tossled by toddlers and my clothes aren't wrinkly yet.

Poor Chase came down with a stomach bug that morning and wasn't able to come to church with me so I was solo with the toddlers while Dad stayed home....what a work out that was. Yet, he insisted on being in the photo and miraculously recovered in time for the firework show. I miss being able to do your own fireworks in the street, they are banned here for fire reasons.

p.s. anybody else get the NKOTB block reference in the title?

I know this inspiration might be a little late, but I discovered a blog today called Kendi Everyday. She had a shopping ban for herself a while back and did a challenge with herself, which she called 30 for 30 (it was all about remixing outfits, which would help you stay inspired and hopefully not tempted to shop!). She thought it was very successful and is going to do it again. Here is the link about it. You should check it out and I hope it helps! http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/2010/07/30-for-30-again.html

Well, I guess we can give you a pass this time, but come Halloween I'm going to except some Sepia out of you ;) Cute, cute outfit - I love the print on that skirt! Glad your Chase is already feeling better and didn't miss the festivities last night.

Great outfit. Can you describe the sand dune color. Is it like a dark peach or apricot?

Love your outfit for church, you have some really beautiful pencil skirts in your wardrobe!

I caught the NKOTB reference, I loved them back in the 80s! Am 27 now but still remember all the words if a song comes on the iPod : )

Good going on the shopping ban. You said it could be broken for sale items you had been coveting right? So I bought the purple scallop edge coat in the Boden sale as it was 60% off and I loved it the first time I saw it in January. It arrived yesterday and it's great, my husband likes it but said it reminded him a bit of Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band...!

Well done on the shopping ban so far. I broke it for a sale item, the purple scallop edge Boden coat that was 60% off in the sale! I seem to remember you had an exception for sale items you had been coveting : )

p.s. Debye, apologies if you get emailed 3 or 4 messages from me... my google account (princess_dave) posts them then they seem to instantly disappear. Not sure that is going on!

Woo Hoo NKOTB! I have the same t-shirt and I love the way you styled it, I might have to do an "inspired by" post and copy your outfit :)
