what WE wore

Yesterday was Jonas' 8th graduation. 406 8th graders made for a long ceremony. For me, the joy was a little tempered when I noticed the King family sitting near us. I couldn't help but think about how hard this day must be for them. Here they were celebrating their son's graduating from 8th grade on the same day that Chelsea was supposed to be graduating from highschool. One of the most heart warming moments was when Chelsea's brother Tyler's name was called. The ovation, cheers and love that came from his peers and the crowd, I am so proud to be part of such a great community.

And now, I am officially the mother of a highschooler. Here is what I wore to graduation (keep in mind it was a hot day):
tee-J Crew
papaya pencil skirt- J Crew
shoes-Candies

And here is what my not so little man wore:

shirt, pants, belt-GAP
tie-Target

And here is a photo of the two of us together. Not my best photo (or even close) but the the only one I got of the two of us!

What a handsome young man. I'm glad it was such a wonderful day-you look so pretty. My eyes welled up reading about Chelsea's family. Thanks for keeping us informed-her family sounds immensely strong and very loved.

You look like his sister!!! What a gorgeous pair, two of you. I have to comment on how beautiful your hair always looks. This outfit is just perfect, that tee is seriously one of my faves. I wore it so much during spring/winter.

Love the outfit, Debye - I have this tee and I *had* the skirt, but I returned it and now I'm kicking myself. It looks FAB on you!

Your son is too cute! And you look like his older sister, not his mom! Congrats to your kiddo.

Your son is so handsome! I love what you wore for graduation, and how fun to see you outside of the kitchen - lol - that is a cute picture of you and your graduate! I'm glad the King family was so honored and supported last night - it's great when a community can rally together to embrace people that way.
