Gotta Love Some Contrast

Yesterday I finished the clothing part of back to school for the kiddos. I have very fashion conscious boys (especially Chase) which my husband blames me for. Since he hates shopping and clothes are just a necessity to him, I'd have to agree they take after me!

Afterwards, I had to run by the highschool to drop off some paperwork for Jonas' cross country and it was the first time I had been back on campus at my old highschool since I graduated. I have to admit it was pretty nostalgic. Have I ever mentioned that we ended up buying a house seven years ago that is just a mile from where I grew up? My parents don't still live here but it has been really cool to see my kids at the same elementary, middle, and now high schools that I went to. The walk around Poway High was by far the one that brought back the most memories (go Titans).

Here is what I wore:

Oh I love this outfit! I like how you took traditionally more dressed up pieces and made it work with those jeans :)

The comment about your boys' fashion sense made me LOL.
Love this outfit, you make boyfriend jeans look sophisticated :) and I told myself no more shopping but I just keep going back to the LOFT to buy the items you wear so well. Now I want this top and cardigan!!

Oh my! I've been reading your blog for a while. I never realized you were in Poway! I grew up in PQ, went to Mt. Carmel. :)

I love your sense of style, it always inspires me. I raised my family clear across the country from where I grew up, but we're about to take my youngest daughter to college this fall...my alma mater! So I will have some of that great nostalgia, I'm sure.

I work p/t at the LOFT too and I've had my eye on both of those pieces...hmmm...I may have to do some more shopping! It's a dangerous environment working there isn't it?

PS - love your blog!

Poway? Sounds familiar.... Just realized that is where my brother is serving his mission... He is San Diego, American Sign language!! Look for Elder Carlson! Love the blog!

What cute ruffles! And it's so wonderful that you live in the same area where you grew up. I moved around a lot when I was younger, but my parents finally ended up moving back to the town where I was born. In fact, we can see our very first house (where I was born) from one of the bedrooms in their current house. That's somewhat rare for a good sized town of 100,000+.

Love the cardigan! Did not see a place where I could email a request so posting it here. Would love to see some styling options for the twist neck shell from the loft. I purchased the moss green but now at a loss of how to wear it.
Thanks! A

I grew up in Rancho Bernardo! Three of my sisters went to Poway High. I love the area. I have to live in the Bay Area now (husband's job), but hope one day I will get to move back to San Diego. I miss the beach, a proper carne asada burrito, and rolled tacos. Can't find it up here to save my life! haha!

Love your cardigan!

That cardigan + cami combination is gorgeous. It looks great with the jeans and I'm sure would be equally pretty dressed up with a skirt.
