Some OOTD's and I need your opinion

My J Crew order arrived yesterday and although I spent most of the day in sock monkey jammies and fuzzy slippers, I did manage to pull it a little together in time for carpool. I LOVE the new pale coral color on this tuxedo ruffle painter henley and it will go perfectly with a summer tan when I get one.

Today, I tried out the Evie RuffleTop in Ivory. I am still not 100% sold on this one. I was able to get a great deal on it ($19.99) without it being a Final Sale so I am tempted to return it but I think I will hold off. The silk is REALLY thin making it very sheer and it has a lot of sheen to it so it felt a little too fancy for my jeans. That said, I like the design and the fit so I may hold onto it for dressier occasions.

Now for the part where I need a little help, I fell off the reasonable and sparingly shopping wagon yesterday at Banana Republic. With everything going on I decided a little retail therapy with a 40% off any one item coupon was acceptable. I have four of these coupons, one for each Wednesday in March so if I buy one item each time I will get a great deal and I am a woman who can have self control.....right? Problem is, I am not the only fan of their new line and it is flying off the shelf and their website. So when I went in to the dressing room yesterday, I casually asked about the washed leather motorcycle jacket which was no where to be seen but had been in a lot of ads.  TheSA explained that they had one left the day before but now it looked like it was gone and it had sold out online.

Well now I wanted it even more of course and was mad at myself for not looking closer at it last week. Then I proceeded to love all four things I tried on which presented a problem since my coupon was only for one and since I am now a deeper thinking shopper I needed to pick one thing. Okay, the chino vest it is BUT then I hear the words, "wait I found the jacket, it had been on hold do you want to try it on?". So of course now I can hear the choir singing and the jacket has a glow and is saying "I am the best jacket ever". I try it on and it fits perfectly but the price tag is high since it is a leather jacket. Believe it or not I have never owned a leather jacket in my life, I hate the price tags. But here I am with a coveted leather jacket in my size, last one around AND I have a 40% off coupon. I wanted to think this one out but the coupon was only good for that day so I brought it home and I am still at a loss of what to do.

Pros: Great quality, nuetral color, classic style, 40% off and my Birthday is next week

Cons: Even with 40% off it still costs a lot, have never worn leather before will have to get used to it

What are your thoughts?? Is the splurge justified or should it go back?

ooooooooh. So pretty! The leather looks so buttery and soft and the cut is perfectly feminine for a leather jacket. If you think you will be able to give it a chance in your wardrobe, I say go for it. How does it look on you? Do you get "the feeling"?

It looks so pretty in the picture! I think you need to try it on before asking us all to decide! Sometimes I think leather can be boxy...so if the fit is right...KEEP IT!
What was the final price w/the coupon, too?

App Gal-yes I got the feeling!

Christy-You are right, I will update with some IRL's. I think it looks better IRL then in these pics, the fit is perfection

Being a leather it should hold up a long, long time, so it might legitimately be an investment piece.

Definitely keep it! You'll use it forever, just don't go back every week to use the other coupons, make this your one big purchase!

I have a leather BR jacket from about 4 years ago, same shade but a different style. I LOVE it. I get complements every time I wear it, which is often. I got 30% off mine so it was about $200 and totally worth it. So if the fit is perfect....

I love the henley on you.
Slightly off topic -- I noticed this item on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/Anthropologie-ODILLE-Scalloped-Lace-SKIRT-Minty-M-8_W0QQitemZ250589926115QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_CSA_WC_Skirts?hash=item3a5852d2e3) and I thought it looked like a photo you had posted previously. It says the item is in MN and I know you're in CA, so I wonder if someone is using your pic. If not, sorry, but I wanted to let you know in case it is.

Totally love the leather jacket. I really think you should keep it b/c it is hard to find a leather coat that fits well (at least for me anyway). It's a classic.

Love that leather jacket - the color is GORGEOUS! Keep it.

also...if you're waffling about the Evie...I Aust got the Ruthie shell - it's like the Evie but in cotton instead of silk. I got the ivory or white, can't remember, but I think I'll wear it a ton more than the silk. My B&M had quite a few on the sale rack for $29.99. Just a thought...

And I love that pale coral on you!

I could totally relate to this post, as I dont own a leather jacket for the same reason! That being said, I LOVE the one from BR and if it fits perfectly and makes you feel like a million bucks when you wear it, then it's worth it! Plus, knowing that it was pricey will motivate you to pull it out and get your moneys worth - right? The color IMO is the best thing going for piece, it really is classic and will be something you wear for years and years. Keep it!

The jacket is beautiful. You gave many good reasons for keeping it. What would be your reason for returning it? Price alone? Will it be worth it in the long run? I think its gorgeous, and would 100% keep it.

Keep it! You had me on 'birthday'! ;)

DEFINITE keep! I hunted that jacket down (they sold out the 2nd day at my nearby store) but my size didn't fit right. The color is gorgeous and leather jackets are so expensive these days--whereas this one at 40% off is a steal!
PS: I bought that seafoam green ruffle tank from BR yesterday. I couldn't resist after seeing your outfits! :D

Every woman deserves a leather jacket. It's a great buy. It'll last for five years because leather is great and its trendy but won't go out of style next year. I love the white shirt by the way!

I'm not a fan of leather jackets, but this one does appeal to me. It's a lovely color and a great design. If you've tried it on and love it, I would say go for it because it's obviously a hot seller right now and you've got a coupon for 40% off!

I think you like it go for it. Esp. with a coupon. It's a classic look and I love the color. If you know you will wear it often-the Cost Per Wear will balance out. I love it!

Kate and Tawn-You guys are so observant! I actually sold that eBayer the skirt but it was too small for her so she had to resell it and she asked to use my photos! Thanks for looking out for me.

Everyone else-You guys all rock and it was pretty much unanimous.I am keeping the jacket, I love it and I will miss it if I let it go. I will take some IRL pics for you soon
