Say Cheese!

Okay Yogagirl...this smile is for you! This is what I wore to church on Sunday and it did suffer a casualty when Christopher pulled off part of the tank embellishment. Nothing a few stitches can't fix :)

J Crew Abstract Lattice Pencil Skirt
J Crew Jackie Cardigan in Navy
J Crew Embellished Tissue Tank

And here is what I wore to work last night. Don't I look exhausted? Honestly, highschool is wearing me out. Between Jonas' seminary at 6am, then highschool, then cross country after highschool I feel like I have permanatly superglued my behind to the seat of my car (well, minivan).
dress, belt and cardigan- LOFT

And here are half the kids tackling me to be in a photo:)

You look super pretty in both outfits, Debye! I hope your other three are good sports about all the running around. I bought some tops from Loft during this B1G1 1/2 off deal and I can't wait for them to arrive - such cute things this Fall!

Love Sunday's outfit. You pull off that dark mustard color so well. Not everyone is so lucky.- Katy http://modlychic.blogspot.com/

Love both looks on you...so polished and super cute! Sorry about the tank embellishment...I always worry about my 1 year old tugging at it when I've worn mine too! The second dress/sweater combo is really cute...you mix patterns I never would have though of but absolutely love!!! Great inspiration!!

You know how you really want the ochre ikat skirt that I have? Well, I really want this lattice skirt that YOU have! I adore this skirt and am so sad I missed out on it! I love both outfits and the color combos you put together. You are so stylish!

I love the night outfit, that dress is so pretty. I like that you paired the feminine dress with that cardi, it's very unexpected but I think it works perfectly.

The last picture with the boys is priceless. What size did you end up going with in that striped cardigan?
I love the pairing of it with the floral dress.

Hi Debye! I am a frequent reader/not so frequent commenter but always enjoy your blog! If you happen to see this comment, please let me know what you would recommend wearing to a first interviw at Loft! I filled out the online "survey" and they called me yesterday to int. for a SA position at a new store that will be opening . I was thinking pencil skirt, simple top and ballet flats (JC Canterbury bells skirt, JC perfect shirt and silver jewelry). I would wear sandals (it's going to be 100 here today) but get the feeling open toe shoes/sandals might not be appropriate. I don't own many Loft items but like their clothes....I just don't live close enough to one to shop there often (but now they are opening 2 more in our area). Thanks and keep up the good work on the blog. I love all of your outfits and own many of your same pieces!

thanks everyone!

Bellamomma-I ended up going with a size small in the cardigan.

Tx Mom-the best thing for the interview is to look "LOFT". As long as you look styled you will be a hit. Your outfit sounds perfect and I would go with the sandals! LOFT is more casual then Ann Taylor and most of the girls wear sandals and flats in our store. One other tip....show off your personality. I know our store won't normally hire anyone who acts too quiet or shy. LOFT focuses on "genuine client interaction" and they want everyone to feel like they are shopping with their girlfriends when they come in so they looks for sales assoc/stylists that are friendly and able to start up a conversation. I am sure that there are plenty of LOFT stores that don't run this way but a new store should be on the right track. Just my non-solicited advise :)

Thanks! I DID want your advice! I wore the above described outfit with a wide belt from anthro and some JC ballet flats...and they liked my outfit. Got the job on the spot and start training next week. I'm just an empty nester looking for something to do, so I think it will be fun opening a new store.
